The •ou of Mr Rutherford, butcher, was driving the cart on his usual morning round, and was j list upon the point of crossing the line, when owing to the large amount of tall flax in the neighborhood of tho crossing he was unable to see the closely approaching train, nor was he able to pull up in time, but most fortunately the horse turned sharply round, and tbe trap was thrown into the adjacent ditch and sustained a breakage of the shafts. The driver was thrown out, but escaped ir.i-' hurt. Another hid who occupied tUo cart jumped out unlajured.
