RAILWAY RETURNS.
We compile the following returns from the Government Gazette of the 10th inst., showing traffic returns on the WanganuiM&nawatu section for the four weeks ending December 9th, 1882:— 1882 1881
Total... 3340 14 « 3545 10 11 For the period ending November llth the receipts were £4022 2d. The period above quoted not only shows a falling off as compiled with the corresponding period in 1881, but with that of last month. The item in which the deficiency occurs is in the passenger traffic.
