MANCHESTER UNITY OF ODD FELLOWS.
Tne calculations necessary to ascertain the financial position of the Manchester Unity every ypar have just been completed tbr*lßßl. The order numbers 452 districts, comprising 4,158 lodges, havine- altogether 547,909 members. The capital on the Ist January last was £5,043,277---an increase during the year of £198,235. These figures relate only to sick and funeral funds, but, including widows and orphans, juvenile societies, and other collateral funds, the total capital of the order is £5,291,890, or nearly £9 15s per j member. The income during the year was £761,649, of which £185,025 ; was interest on funded capital. Pay- j ments for sick benefits amounted to .£420,037, an average of 15s 4£d per member, and £14,000 in excess of 1880. Inside* this £111,297 was paid on the deaths of members and members' wives, making the total paid for ordinary sick and funeral benefits £531,.*i34.
