• [rEE UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, This Day. A bushman named Cunningham attempted suicide at .Northern Wairoa by stabbing himself in the nock and breast. He said that his mate, Patterson, who was drowned some time back in the Northern Wairoa, had instigated him to do it. He had been drinking. In Chambers Mr Justice Gillies stated that, in cases where debtors conceal any of their creditors names by omitting them from the schedule, and obtain their discharge without the omission being repaired, the concealed liability holds good, and the creditor may seek to recover when he cnn. The inhabitants of Sumner, the seaside township, eight miles from Christchurch, intend to form themselves into a town district. Owing to the desertion of several of the crew of the ship Marlborough, her departure will have to be postponed a day or two. She has 5300 bales of wool on board, and a quantity of general produce, and will complete loading tomorrow. Ashbuuton, This Day. John Meiklejohn, who stands committed for trial for stealing a large number of Sir John Hall's and M r Bcaley's sheep, was brought up on another charge of stealing five hundred sheep belonging to Mr Cordy, of Hororata. Accused, who is a sheep farmer, and well known throughout Canterbury, was committed for trial on this charge also.
