MANCHESTER HIGHWAY BOARD
« . Saturday, January 6th, 1883. A meeting of the Manchester Highway Board was held oa Saturday afternoon last, when there were presentWardens Mac'arthur, {chairman}, Linton, and Loudon. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. CORRESPONDENCE. From the Under-Secretary, acknowledging receipt of plans aad estimates forwarded under the Roads and Bridges Construction Act. From the Manawatu Highway Board, advising that a meeting be held on the 15th inst, in the. town haU, Palmerstoa North, to consider the advisableness of abolishing the County Council, ox otherwise. From the Kiwitea Highway Board, accepting the nse of the Manchester Highway Board office and safe. ' The .Chairman intimated that he would propose, at tbe next meeting, an alteration in the hour of meeting of the Board. . _ Resolved, That tenders beeaUed «* metalling the Stanway Road. Resolved, That the Clerk sue for a3l outstanding rates without further notice Accounts amounting to £221 6s 84 were passed for payment. The meeting then adjourned.
