A meeting: pf creditors in the estate >f E. Bellve was held in the Courthouse (Wanganui) last Wednesday. Present — Messrs J. P. Watt, C. Bull, and W. Lingard. Mr J. P. Watt was fleeted Chairman. r lhe assets filed were as follows : — Two sections in Feilding with Hotel thereon, subject to a mortage to Messrs Edwards, of Nelson, to secure £2000 and interest ; also subject to a mortage to Joseph Soler to secure £675 and interest: household furniture and effects in tke hotel, £800, subject to a biU of sale to Messrs Edwards as collaterial security for £2000, and to a bill of sale to Joseph Soleras collaterial security for £675 ; quarter section in Turakina with small house, £100 ; mortgasred to Pope and Pearson to secure £27 ; stock in trade, £20 ; book debts, £60. The liabili ties showed Edwards, Fell, and another at Nelson, at £2000^ Joseph £075; J. P. Watt, #610; J. Dui&an, £100; J. and C Bull, £150 ; W. 'Lingard, £62; J. G. Crawford and Co., Wellington, £34; Speight. Dunedin, £36; Pope and Pearson, Feilding (secured), £27; GiHord and Co., Wellington, £28; P. and J. Bartholomew, FeiUung. £31; P. Bell, Wanganui, £45 ; Gilbert Brothers, Palmerston North, £22 ; John Anderson, Wanganui, £20 ; H. Rutherford, Feiiding, £25 % D. R. Lewers, £11 13s 2d; Summers and Co., Feilding, £23 2s 9d; Andrew Todd, Waaganui, £3(0 ; Bank of New fc^th Wales, Feilding, £200 ; trustee in estate of Wm. Shaw, Wanffanui, £120; Halcombe and Sherwill, £11 18s Id; Bank of New Zealand. £80; total over £4600. Mr Prior, as proxy for l>. R. Lewers, objected to the proofs of debt to which particulars of claim were not attached as filed by J- P. Watt and trustee in Shawns estate, C. Bull, and W. Lmgard. The Chairman, -however, overruled the objections. In answer to a question, Mr Bellve stated that Messrs Soler and Uuigan were security for the Bank. A deed of assignment was submitted, but was not assented to.
