THE STATE OF IRELAND.
A farmer nam<d John Hunt was murdered on the Si h October last, in the county lioscoimnon. His liody was found at a place called Copse, about three-quarters of a mile from Boyle. It would appear that a party of about 10 men were goin;; home on that ni»ht from Boyle, where a fair had been held. When about 20C y-irds from the scene of the alleged outrage they heard some shouts which S' emed to indicate that a fight was going- on. Hurrying on, they observed three men moving B'owly along the road as if searching for Bomethin , and they saw a dark object lying across the road, which they at first believed to be a coat, but on going nearer th«y found it was the body of John Hunt, ''hey then went up to the three men who were on the road, and a ked them to assist tbein in attending to the injured man, whom they subsequently conveyed into the house of a farmt r, named Spellman, and communicated with the police. Five men, named M 'Govern, Cry an, lirennan, and two Kennedy*, are in custody on suspicion of being implicated in the aflair. — World.
