In all they lost 556 wickets, and scored a gross total of 10,795 runs; while the 3S teams that opposed tbem lost 653 wickets, and scored 9,089 runs. As regards the four leading 1 batsmen of' the team, it is worthy of notice that Murdoch has been bowled out 24 times, Massie 21 times, Bannerman 15 times, and Horan only 13 times Blackham, at the wicket, has got rid of -iy batsmen, catching- 28 and stumping 17. Murdoch has been dismissed 7 times without scoring, Massie 9 times, Bannerman 4 times, and Horan only 3 times. The highest total that the Australians made was 043 againsl Sussex at Brighton, and the lowest .9, ai'ainst the United Eleven at Tunbridge Wells. In England 043 is the highest score ever made iv a firstclass match. The highest total against the Australians was 322 by the players at the Oval, and fhe lowest 32, by the Scotch Eleven at Glasgow. In the 38 matches there were eleven individual innings of over a hundred ; 7 lor the Australians and 4 agaiust them. Murdoch made _BC, not out, and 107, not out ; Horan, 141, not out, aud 112; Massie, 200; lionnor, 112, not out j and l.annerman 120, not out. For the English elevens Maurice Reid made 130 ; Mr C. T. Studd, 118 and 114: and Mr K. F. S. , Tyleccte, uot out, 100. Ot the Aus- , tralian bowlers Spoftbrtb, Pulnier, and ] Boyle, each went ou half a dozen times without taking a wicket, ano Garrett 13 times. VVe have already said how great a success lhe tour has been from a strictly cricket point ol view, arid it only remains to add that socially and financially it has exceeded all expectations."
