A telegram just received from Cresv«rick i reports that five men have been ?Bavedfroni the mines, but the remaining i twenty-one were all dead when the reUievers reached them. All bodies of those who lost their lives sin the Australian mine were found in the -vicinity of the survivors, and have beuo -recovered. Man ley, one of the survivors, states that the majority dropped down from exhaustion, and were suffocated by 'foul air, or drowned. .Kirk, is suffering .from congestion of the lungs, and is in a •critical condition. The distress of the re- .- lation. of • the - deceased • miners > was increased by the groundless report that all ihsd been saved. A subscription list has tbeen opened for the widows and orphans. : December 15. Tbe survivors "from the Australasian i mine state tbat some of their mates died ; some time before the rescue party arrived. -Kirk, one of the survivors, who was in a •critical state when rescued, is now better.
