• — > Messrs Stevens and Gorton, the wellIknown auctioneers, wiil hold their first sale of stock at Awahuri, on Tuesday inext, the 19th December. A very dengthy catalogue of stock entered for 'this sale is published in another column, « perusal of which we commend to breeders of stock, butchers and others interested. Most of the stock, we understand, are in prime condition, which at this 'season of the year should command a _eady sale at good prices. Mr Samuels, '*-:_ proprietor of the Kndymion Hotel >*Sale Yards, has recently erected very substantial stock yards, as well as proTided the usual requisite necessaries for tthe holding of large monthly stock sales. 3n the hands of so enterprising a firm as ttkat of Messrs Stevens and Gorton, together with its being the. first of a series •of monthly stock sales at Awahuri, we lhave little doubt of the sale proving a most unqualified success.
