FREEHOLD LAND HOLDINGS.
We learn the following from a Parliamentary return of the Freehold Land Holdings rxceeding One Acre in the Colony, at the dale of taking the last census o£ the 3rd 'pril, 18*1.: Total acreage of occupied holdings of laud over one acre, 26,845,466, as against census of November, 187S, 25,269,146 acres, showing nn increase of 1 576,320 acres ; tin's increase is notably in freeholds, j 1,439.623 ; leaseholds, 136697. The toial acreage of holdings unoccupied or uncultivated is 931,435, and number of holdings, 3,487.
