WANGANUI HARBOR BOARD. ENDOWMENT BLOCK.

We direct the attention of our readers to the sale of the above lands, the particulars of which are to be seen in another column of this paper. The land for sale on deferred payments consists of 4,537 acres of agricultural land, and will be sold in Wellington at the Land Office, and in Wanganui at the Harbor Board Office, on Thursday, the 21*t December. For cash there will be offered 6.818 acres at tlie Municipal Corporation Offices, Wanganui. on Friday, the 22nd December, at 1 1 o'clock in the forenoon. This land sale is of great importance to the settlers in the Manchester Block aud those of the Kiwitea, as they are probably the best judges of the laud and its capabilities and are consequently probable purchaser*. Magnificent forests of good payable buxh cover a considerable portion of this block, while there are parts where the trees are of a lighter character, offering greater facilities for clearing. The whole is well watered with surface and spring water. Where necessary there is plenty of fall to permit of easy drainage. The soil is magnificent, nnd numbers of wild cattle testify by their splendid condition as to the qualities and quantity of the feed for stock even without cultivation. Every section has been well surveyed and examined, and all necessary details of information will be given to intending buyers, so that a personal visit to the land may be safely dispensed with. Tbe roads to the block are in good condition, and those under formation will soon be completed. Thus bona fide settlers will be able to go on to their land, and make a home with comfort and facility, before the winter months set in. We devoutly hope that only such bona fide settlers will be purchasers, and that land wolves or speculators will be kept ont of the sale altogether. These persons retard the progress of settlement on every hand in the colony and become a dead weight on farmers or settlers, whose every exertion tends to add value to the land of an absentee, who does nothing whatever himself towards that end.
