THISDAYV (Before R. Wabd, Esq., R.M.) CIVIL CASES. Dr C. Dowd tJ. Gannon.— Claim for £5 17s; Verdict for plaintiff and costs. Thomas Fraser v R. Dury.-- -This was a case where some sheep belonging to Fraser had been worried by dogs, the property of -the defendant. Mr Prior for plaintiff, and Mr Perkins for defendant. Thomas Fraser, deposed : He heard dogs barking, and went to where they were; met Mr Wheeler and his men; there were 3 dogs ; one dog was shot ; counted 51 dead sheep, and a few others were injured ; the sheep were valued by McDonald and others ; some of the injured sheep have died since. George Wheeler, a farmer, of A wahuri, deposed: Heard that the dogs had been worrying Fraser's sheep ; he followed the dogs bufc did nofc. see Dury there. John Reid, cverseer afc Oroua Downs estate, slated thafc he valued the shee] that had been killed on Fraser's run, a' 9s per head.
