KAIAPOI WOOLLEN MANUFACTORY.
At the fifth annual meeting of the Kaiapoi Woolleu Company hold a few days ajro, it was stated that owin>r to rhe alteration of date, tlie balance sheet presented dealt with nine months' operations only, instead of twelve as heretofore. The balance of issued shares (13!'O) have ail been allotted, and the expenses ot floating the same written off. Considerable and important additions have been n ade t<< buildings aud plants. !.i»hry looms are now at work, and the mill and clothing factory <rives employment to to nearly five hundred hands. The profit and loss account, shows a surplus of £f)()4:J Us 7d, out of vhich it is proposed to pay a dividend of ten pc cent — absorbing £5000— -and the ua.ance to be curried forward to new •,ic< ovmt.
