EDUCATION BOARD.

The usual monthly meeting of the Board took place yesterday morning. Present — Mr W. H. Watt, M.H.R., (chairman), Bey J. Ross, Messrs Nofczuan, Buker, Snelson, Bridge, and Sanson. Appointment Committee — The report of this committee was confirmed, to the following effect : — Feilding : Resolved, That Mrs Brown's appointment as assistant mistress be confirmed, and that the cadets asked for be appointed. Awahubi — Upon the application of the School Committee, the appointment of a cadet was sanctioned. They applied also for certain necessary works to be done. — The chairman thought that some dfl|»them ought to be done by the comTnjttee out of their capitation grant. In any ease the board had no funds to comply with the application. — Mr Sauson said that at any rate the roof of the residence ought to be put straight, the water At present pouring in. — With the exception of the roof, estimated to cost 30s to repair, the board declined the application.
