FKILDING v. PALMERSTON.
The first match of the season, Feilding v. Palmerston, commenced to-day. The wickets were pitched at eleven a.m. The weather was all that could be desired and the ground appeared to be in eood order, it being well rol ed and c 1 eared for the match. The Feilding captain won the toss and sent his men to the wickets. Following are the scorei: — Rowley 18 Fitzherbert 3 Roe, F 0 G. Bartholomew... ... ... 14 Jackson 4 Fearon ... ... ... ... 0 J. Hartholomew 6 Sherwill 4 Nix 4 Fowles 4 Smith 5 Byes 1 Wides 1 Total 64 The Palmerston men had scored 66, with 5 wickets down, when we went to j press.
