CORRESPONDENCE.
THE LIBEAEY QUESTION. TO THE EDITOR OF THE FEILDING STAR. Sir, — With reference to the Feilding Public Library question, so ably adToc-t^ — * ted in your columns, the following important fact relative to the distribution of the Government subsidy is, I think, well worth bearing in mind : — lt appears that for the greater encouragement of j those places most reeding assistance, the sum of £25 is to be nominally addefl^o the local receipts. That is to say, if Feilding raised £10, the subsidy would be granted on £35 ; if £25 be raised, then it would becreditcd as having raised £50, and a subsidy on that amount would be forthcoming. Such a liberal arrangement on the part of the Government should be sufficient to stimulate to action a'l who feel an interest in the matter of a Library for Feilding. — I am, &c, i Reader.
