Wangahi'i, September 14. There is great alarm here at the increase of lunacy in the borough and district. During the present year alone, eleven men and leren women have been exported to Mount View Asylum, from the town itself, besides at least as many more from the surrounding: districts.! Two insane women left here by steamer last night for Wellington. Tho causes ot to much insanity are said to be religious excitement, drink, want of amusement, and depression; of trade: Local doctors 'speak unfavorably of Wanganui beer as having a drowsy effect upon the brain. Auckland, September 14 Robert Marsh, a burglar, who plundered the Rev Gyes' house, Franklyn Road, this afternoon, was captured after a sharp chase.
