As day after day brought no reports of fresh crimes (if violence from Ireland, hope* were entertained that more peaceful times hid dawned. These expectations were rudely scattered by another terrible and double murder on the Bth. Mr Walter M. Believing himself to. be a marked man, he seldom went out without protection, and was not unarmed, even in attending mass.
