f~noruj oeiore rwetve o ciock on tne 29cli ult., the county Galwjy was the scene of a dreadful double murder, committed outside the town of Loughrea, on the hiirh road to Woodiawn. Mr John H. Islake, the agent over the Marquis of Clanriearrle's property, was driving into Lou^hrea with his servant man, Thady Kane, and had reached a part ol the road where a goi>d cover was aiforded for assassinations. Suddenly there was a volley fired into them, and both master and servant fell dead, it is believed five or six persons were engaged in the murder. Mr Blake was a member of a very old , family in the district.
