Messrs Parnell and Dillon have joined ' the Executive of the Labourers' League, and an agitation is consequently ex- : pee ted. '. ! VI r Trevelyan has promised to inquire j into the alleged grievances of the police force. The majority of the fishing smacks reportod missing have returned safe. However, a large number have been lost, and numerous fatalities are known to have occurred. The Hon. Russell Lowell, United States Viinister in London, has again demanded from the British Government the release of all American suspects detained in custody in Ireland. It is now understood that if the Hause , of Lords persists in opposing the Irish Arrears of I ent Bill the Government will introduce a County Franchise Bill, and when that measure is passed they will ask for dissolution of Parliament. : PARIS. August 7. M. Duclere has been entrusted by President Grevy with the formation of a new Ministry, and nearly completed the task.
