MR MONTGOMERY'S NO-CONFI-DENCE MOTION.

[By telegbaph] Wellington, August 8. The division on Montgomery's want-of. confidence motion will probably be a close thing, and may be against Ministers. -In my opinion they have acted very unwisely in not bringing on their loan proposals much sooner. Six weeks ago the Loan Bill would have been carried by a considerable majority. If the Ministry gfi out I thiuk it probable . the new men will also come down with loan proposals. Th( sudden stoppage of public works would be disastrous to the country.
