INDEPENDENT OEDER OF RECHABITES.
A meeting was held in the lemplars* Hall, Manchester-street, on Wednesday evening last, with a view to opening a Tent of the above order in Feilding. The Rev T. Sadler presided. Eleven persons gave in their names as benefit members, and one as honorary, while more are expected to follow. A reqnisitio to form a Tent was forwarded to the district authorities. It had. been proposed and agreed that the name should be "Feilding Star," bajb as that luminary already existed, it was finally resolved to christen the Tent "Hope of Feildinj?." The opening ceremony is expected to take pLice on Monday, 31st instant, and will pr bably be conducted by a delegation from Sandon. As it is usual to drink to the prosperity of new institutions, it was agreed to open the Tent by quaffing '" tlie cup that cheers but not inebriates." Among the officers nominated were. Rev. R. Pennell, Chief Ruler; Rev. T. Sadler, Ltepucy Chief u'le'r ; :Mr J. C. Thompson, Treasurer; Mr j>f . Turner, Secretary, but «e 'iuve not a complete list to hand. We wish success to the institution, and may probably at some future time call attention to its aims uud benefits.
