A Wanganui contemporary says : The Heads Railway Company a-e going actively to work. Recently they forwarded by the San Francisco Mail the order for tbe rails and rolling stock required for the line, and the engineer, Mr Atkijs, is aciivly prosecuting the final details of the survey prior to calling for tenders for the first part of the contract. All we now want to cause some stir in Wanganui is the hasty repair of the RaogTtikei Railway Bridge, in order that c un muuication with the timber district may be restored so as to allow the contractors for the various buildings iv course of erection, and about to be erected, t) push ahead with their work. The i i cads contract will then be put in hand, and the simultaneous commencement of the railway line will give business iv Wan anui a spurt which it has unknown for somo time.
