June 20. ' The petition protesting against teaching trades in gaols will be presented to Parliament this afternoon. It contains upward* of 1700 signatures. The Captain and owners of the steamer Mohaka, which wat engaged carrying visitors to H.M.S. Nelson on Sunday week, were charged with overcrowding the yessel, and fined £5, and ordered to pay 2s 6d a head for 80 passengers, estimated to be over her limit.
