MANCHESTER HIGHWAY BOARD
Aii adjourned meeting of the above Board was held on Monday last. Present —Wardens Macarthur (Chairman), Bartholomew and Capper. .. The minutes of the ordinary and special meetings were read and confirmed. A letter was read from Thomas- Flym, asking for permission to fall bush on road line, being continuation of Henderson', line. Proposed by Warden Capper seconded by Warden Bartholomew, That permiss ion 'be granted on the usual terms. — Carried. ... -Proposed by Warden Capper, seconded by Warden Bartholomew, That the Collector bd authorised to tne for all outstanding rates.-^-Carried. The following memorandum of rates due for the present year was read: —
. Several accounts were passed for payment, v .••/,.'.'•::..■ A ietter was received from Mr A. P. .Douglas resigning his office as Warden for No 3 Ward on account of pressure of private I isiness. ■Proposed by Warden Bartholomew, secondte'd by Warden Capper, That Mr DouglasV resignation ,be accepted, and that, the Clerk be ? authorised to take the necessary-steps to fill the vacancy :— Carried.
