PROVINCIAL STOCK MARKET,
SALES AT PUKE ICO HI
Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons, Ltd., report that during the week-end they held sales at Westfield. W ait-aka-ruru ,Pukekohe twice, Helensville and three clearing sales. Values for dairy cattle were well sustained. Store cattle and beef were in very keen demand and advanced in price. Best dairy cows at profit made £l4 to £l7 10s; good cows, £lO to £l3 10s; sec-ond-grade cows, £7 to £0 15s: others, £3 10s to £6 10s; best springing heifers, £lO to £l3; good heifers, £7 10s to £0 ,10s: smail and backward heifers, £3 Ids to £0 10s; grown steers, in forward condition, £8 Ins to £0 15s, well-bred 4-year-old steers, £7 15s to £8 10s: 3 to 4-year-old steers. £0 10s to £7 14s; 2 lo 3-year-old steers, £5 to £6 10s; yearling to 2-year-old steers, £3 10s to £4 15s; empty young cows, £3 10s to £4 10s; store cows. £2 to £3 ss; yearling heifers, £1 15s to £3 10s: fat steers, £lO to £l4 2s fid: fat cows and heifers. £5-10s to £9: rough killablc cows, £3 to £5: hulls, £3 to £B. There was only a moderate entry of pigs at Pukekolie and values ruled high.
PUKEKOHE HORSE SALE
Messrs Buckland and Sons held a horse sale at the horse bazaar. Pukekohr, yesterday. The yarding was not very large, and comprised no animals of outstanding quality. The attendance of buyers was also on Die small side. Prices realised were as follows: Young heavy draughts. £27 to £34; medium draughts, £l7 lo £29; light draughts and spring-carl horses, £l4 to £22 10s; hacks, £7 to £l2.
