KENNEL AND POULTRY CLUB.

The executive of the Waiuku Kennel and Poultry Club met in'the Wesley Hall on Wednesday. Mr A. N. Wallace (president) occupied the chair, and other members present were: Messrs H. M. Barriball. 0. J. West, H. Knight. S. H. McNaughten, A. W. Phillips, F. Fitchett, A. Fitehett, C. G. Dunham, Jos. Whitham, E. Gopas, G. Buttimore .T.- C. Dunokley, and E. Hay (secretory). The secretary presented ap approximate statement for the recent show, which showed receipts, including members’ subscriptions, totalling £230 12s. and expenditure amounting to £2OO Gs lOd, leaving a credit balance of £27 5s 2d.

The president congratulated the club on the success of the show, and remarked on the high quality of the exhibits. The show had been a wonderful advertisement for the district, he said, visitors coming from as far away as Wellington. He was rather disappointed at the comparatively poor support accorded the club by the pubJis, and considered that the gate receipts should have been doubled at. least.

Messrs G. J. West and H. M. Barriball spoke in support of the president’s remarks. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to all those who in any way assisted the committee to carry out the show so successfully. The, question or having district courts at the next November Show was discussed and those present undertook to gather what, information they could and forward it to the Horticultural Gnmmittee before its next meeting. Potato Growing. Mr G. Buttimore has donated £3 3s as a special prize for the best quarter cwf. of potatoes, any one variety, exhibited at the November show. At leas! half a lon of potatoes, same as sample, must have been marketed by October 20. 1925. This is open to all residents residing in the Waiuku, Waipipi and Awhilu ridings.
