LARGE NUGGET OF GUM.

A few days ago a Maori named Tutupai found a piece of kauri gum weighing 731bs. The gum is of good quality and should realise about £9. It was found in the banks of the Wait! stream at lloe-o-Tainui, near Tahuna.

The natives find it profitable to search the banks of the Mangawara and lesser streams after every- flood as considerable quantities are brought down from the high bush country or freed when the streams wash away I lie banks.
