MARKET REPORT. The Franklin Farmers’ Auctioneering Cbmpany, Ltd., reports : At our usual weekly sale on 'Friday entries in pigs was light, not equal to the demand. We quote : Weaners (small) 11s to 12s fid, good (well-done ones); i9s, stores 20s to 265.
Poultry came fox-ward in good entries and sold at prices in advance of previous last two or three weeks. Hens (small) sold at from 2s to 3s, heavier 3s fid to 4s, young cockerels Is to Is 9d, (roosters 3s 6d to 4s 6d for heavy birds, ducks Is 7d.
Fruit was entered in good entries. Lemons sold at from Is to Is 3d doz, plums from Is to 3s 3d case, peaches 4s Id to 4s 9d, apples (small) JS, half case, good apples 3s to 6s box, red currants 6d lb. Vegetables were in ample supply. Peas Is to Is 3d peck, beans Is to Is 3d peck, caprots Is dozen bunches, cabbages Is to 3s dozen, lettuce 9d to Is 2d dozen. Furniture and sundries sold at average prices.
