building the ADMINISTRATIVE ’ BLOCK. J WORK WELL IN 'HAND. The additions to the Orphan Home at Papatoetoe ,which are now in progress, are expected to be completed by the end of March, and the Go-vernor-General, Viscount Jellicoe, as Grand Master of the Freemasons Craft, is to be asked to place the coping or top stone and open the building with Masonic honours. The additions to the building comprise the administrative block* which will become the main or central block, surmounted by a tower more than fifty feet in height, at the top of which will be tanks with a capacity of about eight thousand gallons' to insure a regular water supply. The administrative block is intended mainly foij the use of the staff and will include a vestibule m the entrance. The upper storey will consist of two dormitories which are ,22ft wide by 39ft long and are expected to provide sleeping accommodation for about fifty additional children. This will mean that the Home| will then be able to house about 120 children. A feature of the buildingd will be the long corridor running throughout their full length and connecting each of the wing blocks, with, the central one by means of a covered way. Mr Chas. .Ravenhall, of Ponsonby, who is in charge of the work, states that the* outside will be finished off in red pressed brick- ,
