THE RING SIDE AT THE FAIRS.
Any man /who likes even a few cows, any man who markets h few fat pigs or a steer or two will make his work more profitable) as well as more interesting, if -he knows .dairy form, or it he knows the most desiiable type of hog or beef steer. An}, man. who puts in his time growingfeeds and. feeding these feeds to live stock ought to be instructed in getting the most for these feeds. These better animals are better chiefly because they will give more in return for the feeds given them. No man will sit at the ringside and carefully watch an expert judge place the different classes of daily animals, if he really studies thefoim of animals placed first, can fail to be better able to pick out a good dairy cow from her form or appearance.
(The man who is poducing livestock or livestock products should aim to produce the best at the least cost. To do this he must know the best form or type of the animals’ he id dealing* with. The livestock show rings at the fairs offer the best) means of learning to know livestock.
