TOO CHEAP!

If fresh air cost as much as some of the luxuries we most of us indulge in in one shape or another, it would pifobably be in keen demand. But as it costs nothing it is no Val* ued in fact many people appear' to regard it with the greatest aversion. A .doctor has just directed public attention to our railway carriages from which, he says,, fresh air is generally carefully excluded by passengers, wSth the result that cokls are caught by persons becoming infected by the “cold germ" Whenever you enter p, railway carriage, says this medico, open the window, You will be doing a very great service to the travelling public and incidentally lessening your own chances of catching various diseases. Excellent advice, But probably not one person in twenty will take it. Fresh air, the great safeguard of health, is too cheap* A, stuffy railway carriage, such (is are common on our Auckland suburban lines, will doubtless continue to be stuffy.
