PUKEKOHE CLUB, THE ANZAC CUP. REGAINED BY PUKEKQHE. On Saturday rinks from the WestEnd Bowling Club visited Pukekohe in ,an endeavour to lift the Anzac Cup held by Pukekohe. and they were nqarty successful, the issue being decided on the last head. With Uvo games concluded Pukekohe were 8 down, and it was therefeire left to Armstrong’s rink to pull the ashes out of the fire/ With three heads to play he was 5 up, but by careful pjay he managed to increase his score to 8 up w(i|th (two heads to - go. The scores were now erven on the 20th head, Armstrong got two making the cup-holders two up The final! head was hard fought, West End held the advantage until Jas. Roulston with ,a neat drive cleared out ithe shot bowls and left West End several down without position. Bell, with his first bowk pushed the kitty through, and also elevated a Pukekohe bowl which lay the shot. Armstrong played safe, and Bell realising ttyat iff was impossible to win, drew the second shot, ,and the match ended with Pukekohe 3 up. The president of the West •En,u Club congratulated Pukekohe on their win, He stated that the games were keenly contested, and were only an example of the mjmy keen games played between the clubs. He referred to the spleridid spotting spirit in which the games were played, 1 . Cheers were then given for the winners. Mr Geo. H, Armstrong, president of the Pukekohe Club, returned thanks and congratulated the West End Club on the splendid fight it put up in an endeavour to regain the Itrophy.
