■ ORDINARY MEETING. ■ The ordinary meeting of the PukeHcohe Ratepayers’ Association was ■held in the Carnival Tea Rooms on ■Thursday evening, when the president WuMx W. S. Russell) presided over a ■■. re attendance of members. Apologies Tor absence were recelv■ed from Messrs C. K. Lawrie and H. ■e. R E. Wily. B it was resoLvedi that in reference ■to the Mayor's answers to the AsBsociatjon’s questions at the recent ■public meeting, a reply be forwarded ■to the Mayor stating that this AssoB elation was not satisfied with the ■ answers given, and to submit the foL ■lowing questions and recommenda- ■ tions for his written report, v I (,1) The ,die stability of appointing la resident civil engineer with electri- ■ cal qualifications. I (2) That the reservoir on Pukekohe I Hill be kept to its full, capacity to ■ ratepayers in that part to ■ get a supply Of water ait all times, I aflfe to provide a supply! for fireI fighting purposes. I ,(3) That the Mayor be asked to I streply in writing the amount of elecI trie horse power now at »the power I house, and what will be the electrical I horse power in six months’ time. I (4) That in view of the Mayor’s I remarks that he is going on increasI ing electric light connections, how is I he going to give a reasonable supply I of electric light during the next six I months. I (5) In reference to the Mayor’s I remarks re Mr Wyatt’s qualifications, I this Association is of the opinion I that the Mayor’s attitude was deI qifledly .detrimental to Mr WyatiS; I and in (fairness to Mr Wyatt and the \ ratepayers, we ask that this 1 Association be informed what certificates and qualifications Mr Wyatt holds ; L also S|n what towns has Mr Walker AC. electrite plants.. (6) In the estimate for drainage has any provision been: made for compensation to propertjy owners through whose properties the main drains are proposed to go through. (7) That as the Mayor said at a meeting of ratepayers in the Farmers’ Union buildings, that he would not take advantage af. the new valuations for current rating, the water, electric light and Hospital Board rates would be increased, but the general rate would be practically the same, why has the Mayor gone back on his statement,?
