A DANGEROUS CORNER.

IMPROVEMENTS fTO B$ EFFECTED. STATION ROAD. PAPATOETOE. The need of improvements to i.-»e roads meeting at ivniiington’s corner. Papatoetoe, namely Station Road. Koumar Road and Wallace Roacf, has been under consideration for some •time. This is a dangerous corner, especially for motor traffic, as the roads do not meet at rignt angles and on all comers the view is Knocked hedges and trees. Altnough no seri'ous accidents there have corpe under the notice of your correspondent, several collisions nave occurred t-helie during the past twelve months, and still more have been narrowhy averted. The members of the Papatoetoe Town Board at their last meeting, strongly condemned the carelessness shown oy in negotiating the turn, and it was pointed out that to ‘‘cut the corner” wuen turning into Kolmar Road round (ioo_ man’s cdrner had unfortunately' become more the rule than the exception.

Mr Millington signified! to the did Board his willingness to grant a smaU piece of ms property in order to (round oft' the corner there, and the Town Board decided to curb and form the footpath. A fiurther 'improvement would also be effected by constructing a footpath round Toomans corner, at the same time mocwiying the turn by including a piece cxf the corner section and shuLtingr the st-eet lamp back. Part or this improvement scheme has avready been carried out.
