(To the Editor.) Sir - The brand of economy as exhibited by the Defence Department in and around Pukekohe i? notorious-
No training is going on in surrounding places and very little in Pukekohe.. Are we payring officials to so* tight It looks like it. I thought there had been some retrenchment in Pukekohe ; at least, I heard so. General Chaytc/. - , in his annual report. stated thrv, only half number of pre-war staff are now employed, Pukekohe has double, and: why ? Taxpayers. please sit up and take notice. I am. etc OLD VOLUNTEER.
