Foii failing to register the birth of his child within six months. Robert Henry Cathcart was fined £l. and ordered to pav 7s Count costs. UNREGISTERED FIREARMS. Archibald Robert Dennis Sproul was charged that at Pukekohe on August 24tE 1922, he had in his possession a Lee-Enfielcl .303 service rifle fdr a longer period than 7 days, without being registered as the owner thereof, Defendant pleadted guilty, but said he understood “-he person who sold it to him had to register it.—The Magistrate said that ignorance of the law did not excuse. He pointed out that for such an offence defendant was liable to a fine of £SO. A fine of 10s and 7s costs was imposed, NO LIGIfTS. Two lads were fined! 5s and ordered to pay 7s costs for riding bicycles without a light, CIVIL CASES.
Judgment was given for plaintiff by default in the following undefended civil cases : ■Farmers’ Union Trading Co. v, B. H Revel, claim £32 11s 3d, costs £5 Is 6cl ; Franklin County Council v. Jno. F. Ludwig, claim £3 12s 8d costs 23s fid ; Franklin County Council v. James Piggott, BcL, costs £3 95.; same v Lionel Piggott claim £lfi 6s 9d, costs £3 9s same v. J, T. Sunjich, claim —2l 16s 2d. costs £3 2s J. T. Balle v- E. Bade claim £IOO. costs ;.5 18; John Clifford v. J. Brittain, claim £2, costs 28s 6d ; Thomas Walye v, J. B. King, claim £l2 8s 9d costs £2 18s. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. R. Aidred, who owes the Fanners Union Trading Company £l6 3s 5d was ordered to liquidate the debt .forthwith, in default lfi days’ imprisonment. .The warrant to be suspended for one montn.
