PROPOSED NEW RIDING. At last meeting of Franklin County Council the Buckland Welfare League solicited the co-operation of f the Council in carrying into effect a sub-division of the Pukekohe West Riding by cutting off that portion of the ißiding lying south of the Pukekohe Borough boundary ansi that the same be added to the Pukekohe East Riding. The League also recommended that if possible the County Council takes into consideration the formation of a new Riding to be called the Buckland Riding. It was pointed out that the .residents around Buckland township felt 'that they were justly entitled to some small recognition in this master.
