TUAKAU V. PUKEKOHE.
On Mondtey night a team of four of Pukekohe’s leading billiard and snooker players journeyed bo Tuakau to play a friendly game with representatives from Tuakau. Proceeds of the evening to be devoted to fur_ jflhesr the candidia)tluxe of the “Soldiers’ Queen ” Mjss Bessie Geraghty. Very pleasant games eventuated. The chief game of the evening was that between Messrs P. M. Keppel, of Tuaiand O. Short, of Pukekohe, the former conceding his less experienced opponent 50 in a match of 400 up. The grime furnished an exciting finish, the home player running ouf while the visitor compiled 398 points. The winner made several breaks of over 20, while the loser made one break of 29 and severaili over 20. The cither billiards game was between Bert Clarke (Pukekohe.) and F. List (Tuakau).. )The Pukekohe man ran out his 200 points while List’s total was 136.* The winner made a break of 46 ithe highest of 't’he evening. In the snooker matches T. Maxwell (Pukekohe) 101, beat F. List (Tuak;m) 61; F. Bell (Pukekphe) 152 beat J. Geraghty (Tuakau) 135. After the game supper was dispensed at .the residence of Mrs B. G. Geraghty.
