GOLF NOTES.

PUKEKOKE GOLF CLUB. The arinual general meeting of the above club was held on the 28th inst, Mr J. Roulston presiding over a large attendance. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed and the balance sheet adopted. The outgoing committee reported the seiason 1920-21 to be a record for the club. The membership had considerably increased and the finances of the club were sound.

During the year twelve competitions were played and some very interesting and close finishes eventuated. The outstanding feature of the season was the inauguration of the Franklin championship for ladies and gentlemen, and it was pleasing to state .that both the winners, viz., Mrs-Campbell-Smith and Mr W. G. Brosnahan, were prominent and enthusiastic member's of the cliub. The committee wished to place on record their appreciation' of the invaluable assistance given by the ladies, and in conclusion urged upon the in-com-ing committee the advisability of doing - all in their power to assist and coach young players. The election of officers resulted as follows :—President, Mr J. Roulston (re-elected) ; vice-president, Dr. Campbell-Smith; captain, Mr W. G. Brosnahan (re-elected) ; secretary, Mr M. Simmonds ; treasurer, Mr H. V. Middismiss; auditor,. Mr A. Day (re-elected) ; match committee, Messrs W. G. Brosnahan, B. F. Hopkins, and Dr Campbell-Smith; general committee, President, vice-presi-dent, captain, secretary, treasurer, Messrs B. P. Hopkins, E. Clarke and Dr McSweeney. Ladies’ coumittee,. Mesdames Dave Roulfcton, CampbellSmith, Pattle, Motion, Johnßayly, Misses Duncan, McKenzie, Wity and Allan.

Messrs Roulston Bros, kindly donated a trophy to the value of two guineas to the club. A vote of thanks was accorded the donors, who, during the year, had kindly placed their grounds at the disposal of the club gratis. An appreciation of the services of the outgoing secretary, Mr Chas. Bonner, was placed on record. The meeting adjourned with a hearty vote of thanks to the chair.
