MANUREWA TOWN BOARD.

FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The usual fortnightly meeting of the Manurewa Town Board was held on Monday. Present: Messrs. T. J. Corin (Chairman), C. H. Lupton. E. S. Pegler, W. T. Cox', Geo. Smith, Gallagher, M. King, the Clerk (Mr. H. Kay) and the foreman (Mr. W. Amiss). A REQUEST. Mr. E. J. Butterworth requested to know if the Board was willing to receive at its next meeting a denutation with a petition asking that a meeting of ratepayers be called, and an explanation be given as to how loan money was being expended, also full particulars relative to the Board’s financial position.—lt was decided to reply stating the Board would receive the deputation at its next meeting. MANGERE BRIDGE. Intimation was received, that a commission to enquire into the question of allocation of cost to local bodies in connection with repairs and maintenance to the Mangere bridge would be held shortly. The Manurewa Town Board was cited to appear.—The chairman and the Board’s solicitors were appointed to appear on behalf of the Board. METAL CHIPS REMOVED. The foreman reported that some person unknown had removed metal chips from the Board’s heap without authority.—lt was decided to place the matter in the hands of the police. FINANCE. Accounts amounting to £363/16/were passed for payment.
