He took it sachy, and exclaimed bitterly : “Oh, false, cruel girl, to thus carelessly trample upon a heart whoso every throb is for you alone! For this bauble I have no further use. Let it perish, as I hope may also the love of which •it was the emblem.” His hand was raised to threw the ring into the fire, but she grasped It quickly. “I merely wished to say, Hubert, that I would like you to have the wed-ding-ring made just a trifle smaller than this.”
