KARAKA.

A painful accident happened to Mr J. Fitzpatrick, of Kanaka, who w'as driving home from Papakura.. He was leading some horses that had just been to the blacksmith, and had reached Mr Howard’s place on Beach Road when the animals took fright at a uotor and played up, pulling back, the rope got twisted round the thumb of his loft hand, pulling it (the thumb) right off. He was immediately motored back and taken to the hospital. Great sympathy is extended to him, for he is most popular.
