BUTTER FAT COMPETITION.
CLEVEDON RESULTS. The butter-fat competition, held under the auspices of the Clevedon A and P. Association, and limited to dairy farmers residing within a 12 miles radius of the Clevedon Show ground, attracted 50 entries for the both classes, but only 31 cows and heifers were actually put under Hittest.. The competition was a three period test of on? day’s milking in each period, the date being September 22nd, November 17tn and January 19th in the case of cows, and a two period test in case of heifers. The result was as follows :
Cow, any age, Mr W. J- Gore’s Grannie, total butter-fat, 6 0631b5, 1; Mr H. Alexander’s Ten, 6.5741b5, 2 ; Mr J. Farrar’s Black Princess, 5.580 lbs, 3; Mr D. McKenzie’s Bennett, 5.5741b5, 4 ; Mr R. Quinn’s Tom, 5.326 lbs, 5. The others ranged from 5.325 lbs down to 3.988! b5. For the heifers the tests were taken on November 17th and January 19th. Result: Mr W. T. Duder’s Blue Bell, total butter-fat, 2.6001b5, 1; Mr J. P. McCall’s Tricksey, 2.412 lbs, 2; Mr G. H. Morrison’s Clayton, 2.2561b5, 3 ; Mr C. C. Mimro’s Tin Lizzie, 2.2491b5, 4.
