WIN FOR,HOME CLUB
Five rinks from the St. Helier’s Bay Club visited Pukekohe on Saturday to try conclusions with the home club.
Prior to the commencement of play, the vice-president (Mr I. H. Armstrong) apologised for the absence of the president (Mr Jas. Roulston), and on behalf of the club extended a cordial welcome to the Pukekohe green. He trusted their brief stay would be enjoyed. After some interesting and close games, Pukekohe triumphed by a narrow margin.

The visitors were entertained at lunch and afternoon tea. An invitation was extended to Pukekohe to journey to St. Helier’s Bay at a later date. LOCAL COMPETITIONS. ROUSTON STARS. A rink skipped by Armstrong entered a challenge for the Rouiston stars, helde by Keith’s rink. After an interesting game the chaallengers predominated. Scores and rinks are . S. McNally, H. Stuart, Jos. Adams, J. 11. Keith (s, holders, 18, v. G. G. Littlejohn, H. Bromwich, F. H. Hewitt, G. H. Armstrong (s, challengers) 29. PRESIDENT’S FOURS. Semi-final: J. B. Brown, J. PRae, W. Butler, C. Clarke (24), v. T. Maxwell, J. G. Ward, Jas. Crosbie, A. F. Brown (s) 20. Clarke now plays Armstrong, and if he succeeds he will be the winner of the competition. If Armstrong wins he will then play Brown, and if Brown wins he will again meet Clarke, but if Armstrong wins his rink wins the event. Members ,of the local club who did not participate in the above games, took part in an ordinary draw, particulars of which are not available.

PUKEKOHE’ TEAMS COMPETE,
ARMSTRONG RUNNER-UP.
The Te Ai’oha bowling tournament was commenced at Te Aroha on Monday, January 2nd. Two teams from Pukekohe Club—G. G. Littlejohn, Jas. Crosbie, Jos. Adams, J. H. Keith (s), and W. Wright, J. Key worth, R. Fitness and G. Armstrong (s) were among the competitors. Keith’s team failed to v.in its section. Armstrong was not only successful in winning his section after a play off, but defeated the w r ’■ of another section in '<■ n*-< . Th> fir. d between An ••■•eng arc- • an, . x.\ Eden, was played o - Thors.. 0, rod after a most interesting game if Mt. Eden team was successful and thus won the tournament, with Pukekohe as runner-up.
