MAUKU ATHLETIC SPORTS.

LARISE ENTRIES . Splendid entries have been received for the various events at the Mauku Athletic Club’s annual sports’ meeting on New Year’s Hay. For the Mauku Cup there will be a field of 17 competitors. Many of the other events have drawn similar competition. The Highland dancing competitions which will be a feature of the meeting, have met with general approval and some 20 gold and silver medals have been donated by local residents. The Railway Department are running a special train from Paera'ta,

connecting w(ith th Thames express from Auckland), a and the race train from the Waikato returning after tht sports, and connecting with thoeviening up and down trains. Arrangements have been completed with the Pukekohe Brass Band to attend, so all and sundry are certain of a good day’s sport.
