THE ORPHAN HOME. TRUST BOARD MEETING. I INSTITUTION AT PAPATOETOE. i I A meeting of the Orphan Home Trust Bor.?cl was held last week, Mr E. Yates presiding'.. There were also present cne Revs. G> Bell and Y oung, Messrs Kay, Thomas, Bullin, Hallett, and Dr Robertson. An apology for the absence of the Rev. Watson was received. Messrs Grigsby and Waters were thanked for their e.Torts to raise and equip a troop of Diocesan Boy Scouts at the Home, and their formation of a troop was approved. The £25,800 Effort. The chairman reported that the Orphanges Association had proposed a scheme to raise £25,000 to help the Homes. Eight orphanges required help, and of these, three were Anglican, accommodating 178 children. Homes were now constanly refusing applicants for admission, owing to lack of accommodation, and he proceeds of this united effort and appeal would be distributed to the various institute! pro rata of the number of children supported by each. The scheme was approved by the Board. The chairman also reported that he was sharing Mr Bottomley’s gift of frozen meat among the Homes connected with the Association, each Home to bear its share of he cost of storage. His action was approved. i ■ Formation of Road. The Rev. Young proposed and Mr Bullen seconded, that the formation of the road on land proposed to be sold, be proceeded with immediately and that Messrs Yates, Hay and Mulcock be a committee i to arrange this matter, wjith power to act and to report to a special meeting of the Board, if necessary. An application for 'the admission of three orphan children was considered. One of the children beieng only two years of age, it was decided that the Matron be authorised to engage another assistant for the nursery at a wage of £1 per week. On this understanding it was agreed admit all three children, subject to passing the usual medical test.

Accounts amounting to £lO7 8s 6d were passed for payment.

The thanks of the Board were accorded to Mr Coe for providing tickets for 25 children to see a moving picture entertainment, also to Canon Foster for presenting tickets for 20 children to attend the Church Pageant of the Diocesan Guild School and his offer to pay their railway fares. The special thanks of the Board were accorded to the chairman for his gift of manure for' the garden, and for his efforts to distribute Mr Bottom ley’s gift.
