ENTERTAINMENTS.
BUCKLAND BAZAAR. THE ANNUAL EVENT. TO-MORROW (SATURDAY). The Public Hall, Buckland, will be en fete to-Smiorrow, the occasion be-
ing the annual bazaar and sale of work, proceeds of which go towards the funds of St„ Paul’s Church. The bazaar will be officially opened at 2 o’clock Jto-morrow afternoon by Mr H. Wilcox, the district’s representative on the Franklin County Council. The object is a very worthy one, and J one which should support" of the public. The stalls include plain and fancy work, produce, 3 , sweets! and soft drinks. Competitions to be held include cookery and needlework, guessing, Xmas dree, bran tub. Afternoon tea and strawberries and cream will be available. The committee, under the direction of Mr W. Richings, the secretary, is leaving 'no stone unturned to make the event successful. The support of the pub- r lie is solicited.
STAND- SATURDAY.
“EVANGELINE.”
“Evangeline,” the immortal poem by Longfellow, will be present in motion picture form at the Strand Theatre on Saturday night came very near reaching the public under another title. “Gabrielle,” “Celestine” and “Evangeline’’ were the three titles under consideration by (the poet when he was putting his new tale into hexameter form.. This picture is' g00d,., It is supported by another star entitled “Maciste in Love.” The programme is one which can be recommended.
The Tuakau Musical and Dramatic Society’s second conceit will be given in Revell’s Hall, Tuakau, on Wednesday, December 14th. The event should be a big one., Proceeds are in aiid of the improvement of the Central School.
