A dance in aid of the Public School tennis courts was held in the Oddfelows’ Hall on Thursday night last, it proved a great success, /.there, being being between 50 and 60 couples present. Music supplied by Miss Duncan. Miss Waring, Miss Ryan and Mr Flavell played the exjtras. Mr G. Flavell was M.C.
The bowlers taking part in the local bowling tournament on Friday, did not forget Armistice Day. Punctually at 1V o’clock play ceased, and the bowlers stood bare-headed and silent for two minuses, as a mark of respect and 1 a tribute to the gallant men who fell upholding the traditions of the British Empire.

The snooker tournament, promoted by Messrs Kennelly and Daysh, and held in 'their billiard saloon, was won by.. M r W. Whitelaw, with Mr S. Forbes as runner-up. The prizes were presented last week.
The town received a very bad advertisement on Saturday last, when visiting bowlers were present. The local water supply failed and two barrels of water had to be carted to the local bowling green to supply afternoon tea to the bowlers.
